Bucharest 7th on top list of expanding retailers

Romanian capital Bucharest is ranked 7th in the top preferences of large retailers looking expand in the next five years, according to an international study.

Bucharest climbed in this way two slots compared with late 2006, said the news agency citing the study “International Retailer'sSurvey” conducted by the real estate consultancy company Cushman &Wakefield, in association with the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) and Real Estate Publishers.

The international study was conducted on a sample of 250 retailers from 23 countries, including Romania. There are to be opened 100 new shopping centers in Romania in the next five years, according to retailers.

Following are the cities retailers prefer most to extend to in the next five years: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague, Bratislava,Ljubljana, Sofia, Bucharest, Budapest, Talin, Amsterdam, Kiev,Berlin, Warsaw, Zagreb, Copenhagen, Riga, Vilnius, Stockholm,Split, Paris, Geneva. (Xinhua)
