Budapestʼs annual construction fair opens

History

The Construma 2015 construction industry trade fair opened in Budapest yesterday and is scheduled to stay open for visitors until Sunday on a total of 18,000 sqm at the Hungexpo grounds. 

A record 550 exhibitors from 15 countries, as far-flung as Algeria and China, are showing at this yearʼs fair, Hungexpo director Gábor Ganczer said.

At the opening ceremony Béla Glattfelder said that the Hungarian government is planning new tenders for European Union fundind as soon as possible to boost orders in the construction sector.

Funding will also be made available for the renovation of private flats, a novelty, he said. The state secretary noted that the government plans to renovate 700,000 flats in the coming years which would create some 40,000 construction industry jobs.
