Budapest airport parking expands by 40%

In preparation for anticipated growth in traffic at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport, operator Budapest Airport today inaugurated its expanded parking lots, which will raised capacity at the airport by 40%, according to a press statement issued today.

The new parking spaces are being referred to as Holiday and Holiday plus, and feature an additional 126 and 172 parking spaces, the statement noted.

Although the new spaces will be available as early as this weekend, walkways and corridors will not be completed until the end of the month. The entire expansion is being realized through an investment of HUF 620 million.

The new parking lots are equipped with CCTV and license plate recognition systems, measures which Budapest Airport believes will make these parking lots the safest in Budapest.

The parking spaces can be booked via internet in advance. “For everyone planning their holidays, we suggest they book parking spaces through our internet service, this way they can receive substantial discounts,” Manel Moreno of Budapest Airport said.
