Budapest Airport launches minibus service
The consortium comprising Petrányi Autó and BUDPORT is launching a minibus service as of January at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Airport, and will become the official minibus service provider of the Budapest Airport company as of January 1, according to a press release issued today.
The service, which is called “miniBUD”, will not only maintain the continuity of minibus services, but will also make significant developments in quality, while also providing airport transfer services with a completely new, simple and flexible booking system, comfortable vehicles and Wi-Fi, the press release said.
Following the business model of low-cost airlines, basic service will be offered for a lower price, but passengers will also have the option to purchase additional services, and door-to-door transportation.
The winning consortium has signed a five-year contract with Budapest Airport. The airport minibus fleet will consist of 60 modern, comfortable and environmentally friendly vehicles, that will enhance passenger satisfaction while also fulfilling commitments undertaken as part of the Greenairport program launched by Budapest Airport this year.
“The most important requirements for high-quality service provision include not only the fleet of sixty modern minibuses, but also the technical background required for their maintenance and continuous availability. The new vehicles will be serviced at our technical base operating at the airport, whereby even the smallest problem affecting passenger comfort can be remedied within the shortest possible time,” said Zoltán Petrányi, the owner of Petrányi Autó.
“The most important consideration during planning was to maximize the airport experience for passengers. We will provide an excellent door-to-door transportation service, for an affordable price. We know that the journey from the airport to the city is definitive in terms of the first impressions for foreigners upon their arrival in Hungary. With the high-quality service approach of miniBUD, we not only wish to contribute to the image of Budapest Airport, but to that of Hungary as well,” commented Ferenc Galgóczy, the owner of BUDPORT.
