Budapest Airport adds separate taxi parking lot

Budapest Airport, the operator of the capital’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport, has inaugurated a separate parking lot for taxis and personal transporters, the so-called “buffer” parking lot, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal today.

The new parking lot, which can hold 210 taxis at a time, will be used 60% as a buffer zone by Főtaxi, the contracted partner of the airport, and 40% by other service providers. The new lot, which has been created due to hotel construction at the airport, is much bigger than the old lot.

The operator expects the location of the new parking lot to better suit taxis, allowing them easier entrance to the departures and arrivals sections of the airport. In the near future, Budapest Airport promises to add separate male and female restrooms and a heated dining facility at the new parking lot, to make it more comfortable.
