An opinion poll made public yesterday, showing government coalition leader MSzP gaining on opposition leader Fidesz is grounds for cautious optimism, MSzP (Socialist) party chair István Hiller said yesterday. Speaking with residents of the eastern city of Debrecen, Hiller noted that what had not long ago been a ten-point difference in favor of Fidesz had now dropped to 4 points, which seemed to suggest that many of the voters who put the party in office in 2002 were returning to the fold.
