NHH requires broadband wholesalers to set prices

Hungary's National Communications Authority (NHH) said yesterday it would require wholesale broadband internet prices to be set based on retail prices. The authority also updated its list of significant market players (SMP), identifying SMPs on the local loop and leased line markets. NHH said it would require all landline SMPs to offer wholesale broad-band access services, and use a so-called "retail minus" pricing system, which uses retail prices to determine wholesale prices. Such pricing will also apply to leased-line wholesale termination services. With the measure, NHH aims to eliminate regional price differences among broadband internet providers in Hungary. (Econews)
