Grundfos to build new plant in Hungary

Grundfos A/S, a Danish maker of water pumps, will build a second Hungarian factory next year that will employ 300 people, business daily Világgazdaság reported today, citing company executives. The company finished expansion of its plant in Tatabánya, west of Budapest, earlier this month where it spent Ft 6 billion ($30 million) and boosted the number of jobs to 920, the newspaper said, citing József Janvári, managing director of the local unit. The Danish company has not yet decided where to build its next factory. Investments in Hungary in the second quarter rose 2.1% from the previous quarter, climbing 9.4% from a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office said August 30.
