Daimler presents first commercially produced CLA-Class in Kecskemét

German carmaker Daimler presented the first CLA-Class for commercial sale made at its plant in Kecskemét, central Hungary, at a charity event on Friday. Daimler's local unit is auctioning off space on the vehicle's body for sponsor logos or pictures, said Mercedes-Benz Hungária spokeswoman Edina Kozári Sztipich. Proceeds from the auction will go to the National Children's Ambulance Service, she added. The decorated CLA-Class will be shown at a number of events this year. Daimler inaugurated its €800 million plant in Kecskemét a little more than a year ago. It launched production of next-generation compact models there, and started making the new CLA-Class early in 2013. The plant is the only one to make the CLA-Class. The added production raised headcount there from 2,500 to more than 3,000.
