More internet users make on-line purchases of basic consumer items this year

Analysis

A total of 15% of active internet users have made on-line purchases of basic consumer items this year, up from 11% last year, a ResearchCenter report published on Thursday shows.

The ResearchCenter report said that the 36% rise in the proportion of active internet users making on-line purchases of basic consumer items exceeds the 27% overall rise in the proportion of active internet users making on-line purchases of any type.

The ResearchCenter report noted that the rise in the percentage of active internet users purchasing basic consumer items on-line this year stemmed solely from an increase in on-line purchases of cosmetics.
