Kopint-Tárki raises economic growth forecast up to 4.5%

Analysis

Economic research institute Kopint-Tárki said it raised its forecast for Hungary's economic growth in 2021 to 4.5% from its earlier projection of 3.5%, issued in December, according to gazdasagportal.hu.

CEO Éva Palócz said the 2021 economic growth will partly result from a base effect, with a rebound of around 10% expected in the second quarter.

In 2022, Kopint-Tárki forecasts GDP growth of 4.5%. The institute expects CPI to accelerate to 3.7% this year from 3.3% in 2020.
