Analysis

The forint traded at 311.25 to the euro shortly after 17:30 on Tuesdayʼs interbank market, firming from 312.12 late on Monday.

The forint slightly weakened to the euro Tuesday morning but shortly before noon it started strengthening. The forint gradually firmed against the dollar during the afternoon. On Tuesday the forint traded to the euro between 312.99 and 311.19.

On Tuesday evening the forint traded at 292.39 to the dollar, down from 291.21 late Monday. The forint lost ground against the dollar in the early hours of Tuesday. The forint somewhat strengthened to the dollar after data published by the Federal Reserve showed industrial output in the US declining in October, but the forint still did not manage to compensate for its earlier weakening.

The forint was quoted at 288.01 to the Swiss franc compared to 289.05 earlier. After holding steady during the morning, the forint strengthened against the franc in the afternoon.
