The ratio of mobile platform users in e-commerce has risen above 50% for the first time in 2018, with the total number of online shoppers also growing, according to findings by research company GKI Digital for discount webshop Bónusz Brigád.

The research also reveals that while more than half of e-customers now use mobile platforms to look at the offers, a mere 30% actually use such platforms for purchasing goods. The vast majority of shoppers still prefer using desktop platforms to make their purchase.

E-commerceʼs share of total commerce in Hungary is 4.7% in 2018 (HUF 430 billion), up from 4.3% last year, the research says. The number of total online shoppers in Hungary grew from 2.1 million in 2013 to 3.2 mln in 2018.

The research was ordered by Bónusz Brigád, as it has recently released a new platform with personalized offers. Furthermore, users may also handle their bonuses on mobile platforms from now on.
