President Novák Visits Kyiv

President Katalin Novák visited Kyiv on Saturday, on the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, to participate in the launch of the Grain From Ukraine initiative, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Grain From Ukraine supports grain deliveries to countries in Africa and Asia most vulnerable to famine and drought. The launch of the initiative coincides with the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor, a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians.
Novák said Hungary is financing the delivery of 10,000 tonnes of grain to Africa, a value of USD 3.5 million, in the framework of the support scheme. She also pointed to assistance Hungary is offering for the transshipment of the grain at a depot on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border.
On Sunday, President Novák visited Transcarpathia, a region in the west of Ukraine that is home to a large population of ethnic Hungarians.
