Gov't Eases Széchenyi Card Lending Conditions

The Economic Development Ministry on Friday announced eased lending conditions for the state-subsidized Szechenyi Card Program for SMEs.
From January, the borrowing threshold for overdraft credit for haulers will rise from 25% to 35% of turnover; the threshold for farm investments will increase from HUF 1 bln to HUF 1.4 bln; the net interest rate for green investments will fall from 5% to 1.5%; and the borrowing limit for Széchenyi microcredit will climb from HUF 50 mln to HUF 100 mln.
Businesses have submitted close to 51,000 applications for some HUF 2.1 tln in credit in the framework of the Széchenyi Card Program Max Plus launched early in 2023, the ministry said.
