Hungary Current Account Shows EUR 142 mln Deficit in July

Hungary's current account showed a EUR 142 mln deficit in July, after surpluses in the previous two months, preliminary monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Thursday show.

The trade surplus reached EUR 1.131 billion in July, as the surplus in the trade of goods narrowed to EUR 159 mln and the surplus in trade of services widened to EUR 972 mln.

The primary income balance showed a deficit of EUR 1.077 bln, as investors repatriated EUR 754 mln from direct investments.

Capital transfers from the European Union came to EUR 28 mln for the month.
