Hungary Gas Stores Reach 5.44 bln Cubic Meters
Gas volume in storage facilities in Hungary has reached 5.44 billion cubic meters, over 54% of annual consumption, the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Office (MEKH) said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The volume in storage is more than enough to cover household gas consumption for a full year, MEKH said.
The storage facilities contain 19% more gas than at the same time a year earlier and are at 86% capacity.
A European Union directive required gas reserves to be at 35% of annual consumption by November 1.
