HUF 4.6 bln in damage so far in storm season
At the halfway point of this year's storm season, according to May-June data, 39,000 notifications were received by insurance companies, and the amount of damage amounted to HUF 4.6 billion, writes Világgazdaság.
Based on this data, this year's four-month damage payments may even exceed last year's 10-year record, according to the Association of Hungarian Insurers (MABISZ).
According to Mabisz's summary, 21,000 notifications were received by insurance companies in June alone, and more than HUF 2.2 billion was paid out based on home insurance contracts or reserved for payments.
The weather on June 4 and between June 8-10 was particularly severe, mainly caused by storms, wind, lightning, secondary lightning effects, ice, roof flooding, and downpours.
