Farm ministry official consults with insurers on drought claims

Agriculture Ministry state secretary Zsolt Feldman has met with representatives of insurance companies operating in Hungary to ensure the smooth payout of claims for drought damages, the ministry said on Friday, according to state news wire MTI.
Feldman initiated the talks after farmers made complaints, the ministry said. It noted the area of farmland affected by drought in Hungary exceeded 550,000 hectares by mid-July.
The state secretary said payouts on drought claims should be "as efficient and speedy as possible" as a matter of "public benefit".
