Based on average gross salaries in Hungary last year, it would take 10.2 years to buy a new 70 sqm apartment, up from the 9.6 years measured in 2021, according to a survey from Deloitte, writes hrportal.hu.

According to Deloitte Property Index's survey covering 27 European countries, the lowest wages are in Slovakia, where you must work for 14 years to buy a home.
Deloitte pointed out that new apartments built in Austria are the most expensive in Europe. Last year, the average specific price was EUR 4,925 per sqm. Austria is followed by Germany (EUR 4,800), France (EUR 4,639) and Norway (EUR 4,204).
Regarding the evolution of apartment rents, in 2022, most people had to pay an average of EUR 32.8 per sqm for rented properties in Dublin.
