Hungary Home Prices Edge Higher in Q3

Home prices rose 1.5% in the third quarter from the same period a year earlier, data compiled by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.

The price of resale homes inched up 0.2% and the price of new homes increased 10.8% during the period.

In a quarter-on-quarter comparison, resale home prices fell 0.6% while new home prices slipped 1.8%.

The price of resale homes averaged HUF 432,000 per square meter for the whole country in Q3, but were as high as HUF 876,000/sqm in the capital.

The price of new homes averaged HUF 968,000/sqm countrywide. In the capital, prices averaged HUF 1,182,000/sqm.

A little over 16,000 homes were sold in Hungary in Q3.
