Slovak Construction Output Shrinks in April
Construction output in Slovakia shrank 10.1% year-on-year in April, reversing from a 9.2% growth in the previous month, data from the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) said on Thursday.
It was the largest decline in construction activity since February 2021, mainly dragged down by domestic construction (-11.3% vs 9.9% in March), as output dropped the most in engineering works (-10.7% vs 20.5%) and buildings (-9.1% vs 6.6%).
Meanwhile, construction abroad showed no growth at 2.2%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction activity fell by 10.4%.
