Domestic Building Materials Market Slows

The domestic building materials market is slowing down significantly, with a substantial decline in the first months of this year, explained Attila Juhász, the chairman of the board of Új Ház Építőanyag Nagykereskedelmi Zrt., according to business daily Világgazdaság.
While there is an extraordinary slowdown in the domestic construction industry, 2023 has brought countless uncertainties and completely new challenges.
Unfavorable processes also reached the Új Ház network of Hungarian-owned companies.
The first two months of 2023 brought a 21% decrease in sales value compared to the same period of the previous year.
But since significant price increases have also occurred in the meantime, this actually represents a 27% drop in the volume of goods sold, explained Juhász.
