Wizz Air Malta Names Managing Director

Wizz Air has appointed Diarmuid Ó Conghaile as managing director of Wizz Air Malta, a new subsidiary of Wizz Air, which will start operations later this year.

The new CEO of Wizz Air Malta will take up his position in Valetta on November 1.

He has more than a decade of experience in the air transport industry, including senior positions with Ryanair, Dublin Airport, and the Irish Aviation Authority as the organization's aviation regulator.

"We welcome Diarmuid to his newly created position at Wizz Air, who will bring his industry and leadership expertise to our work. His role as managing director of Wizz Air Malta will be key in delivering the next phase of our growth," said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, on the appointment.

Diarmuid Ó Conghaile added, “I am delighted to be joining the Wizz Air team in the role of managing director of the new group airline Wizz Air Malta and I look forward to building its network and operations, as well as supporting Wizz Air’s wider strategic business plans going forward."
