Work Starts on Middle Stretch of M4 Motorway

Construction of a 34 km stretch of the M4 motorway, which runs from the capital to Hungary's eastern border, was started on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The middle stretch, between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás, is being built by Duna Aszfalt Projekt at a net cost of close to HUF 134 bln. The project must be completed in a little under three years.

Close to 119 km of the M4, between the M0 ring road around the capital and Törökszentmiklós, and between Berettyóújfalu and the border with Romania, were built earlier at a cost of net HUF 308 bln.
