Slovenia Retail Trade Drops Further in August

Retail sales in Slovenia dropped 21.5% year-on-year in August, accelerating from a downwardly revised 16.2% fall in the previous month the Ljubljana-based Statistics Bureau of Slovenia (SURS) said in a statement on Thursday.

Sales decreased further for all main sub-indexes namely, automotive fuel (-39.6% vs -32.4% in July), food, beverages & tobacco (-2.7% vs -2.2%), and non-food products (-6.1% vs -5.7%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade stalled in August, following a marginally revised 0.5% fall in the previous month.
