Slovenia Retail Sales Fall at Softer Pace in October

Slovenia's retail sales declined for the ninth straight month to 15.6% year-on-year in October, although easing from an upwardly revised 16.4% slump in the previous month, data from the Ljubljana-based Statistics Bureau of Slovenia (SURS) showed.
Sales decreased further for automotive fuel in specialized stores (-34.6% vs -29.3% in September) and food, beverages & tobacco (-1.5% vs -0.8%).
However, the negative trend was partially offset by a rebound in sales of non-food products excluding fuel (0.1% vs -10.5%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade increased by 0.3% in October, slowing from an upwardly revised 1.6% gain in September.
