Small pharmas in 'non-stop crisis management'

The prices of the products of small Hungarian pharmaceutical manufacturers are one-third of the average pharmaceutical prices, a box of which costs an average of HUF 970, Tibor Ásványi, chairman of the SME Committee of the National Association of Hungarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, told business daily Világgazdaság.

These businesses are in non-stop and acute crisis management. These small and medium-sized enterprises account for 2% of the domestic drug supply, and one in 10 of the drugs they produce goes into the basket of domestic consumers.

Last year, their sales revenue exceeded HUF 22.1 billion, while in 2019, it was HUF 22.3 bln.
