Athletics Worlds to Boost Summer Tourism

Foreign visitors who come to Budapest for the 2023 World Athletics Championships will spend around 200,000 guest nights in the capital, Balázs Németh, the CEO of organizer Budapest 2023 Nonprofit, said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Around 50,000 foreigners will come to Budapest for the tournament which Budapest is hosting on August 19-27, Németh said.

Some 1bn people will watch the contests on television, an opportunity to showcase Hungary and Budapest as "one of the best places in the world", he added.
