Noerr law firm welcomes new professionals

Three legal professionals have joined Hungary’s Noerr law firm, effective March 1, according to a press release issued by the company today.

Dr. Viktor Füzi joined Noerr as an employment and litigation specialist. Füzi studied law and graduated from ELTE University in Budapest in 2005. He continued his education at the Ludwig Maximillian University in Munich in a range of disciplines including German civil law, labor law and also German company law. 

 During his career he has gained experience advising on executive collective dismissals, negotiating with trade unions and advising across all aspects of labor and employment law related matters, Noerr said.

Viktor also has experience in litigation law and has advised in lawsuits concerning, among others, environmental pollution against environmental authorities, liability cases, cases relating to breach of contract between companies, clients versus Hungary’s National Customs and Tax Authority (NAV) and dismissal protection, the press release added.

He has experience negotiating with the environmental authority and environmental experts and has prepared legal statements regarding the construction of a wind energy plant and photovoltaic power plants.

Dr. Ádám Bodor joined Noerr as a state aid specialist and a corporate and investment lawyer. Bodor studied law and graduated from ELTE University in Budapest in 2011.  Bodor has worked for over four years at HIPA (Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency) as an in-house lawyer, gaining experience in the field of state aid and investment law. He is regarded as a prominent expert of state aid and subsidies in Hungary, Noerrʼs statement said.

He has advised in relation to all major investment projects implemented in Hungary in the last four years, and as such, he was responsible for the so-called VIP cash grant/EKD cash grant (which is the most popular existing subsidy program among large investors), and he was also involved in the preparation of legislation regulating subsidies in Hungary and the EU (including the new General Block Exemption Regulation of the European Commission and the Government decree on the VIP cash grant).

Dr. Ágnes Tompa joined Noerr as a healthcare and corporate/mergers & acquisitions lawyer. She is the head of the Corporate/M&A department and leads the Pharma/Healthcare/Life Sciences practice group of Noerr Budapest.

Tompa graduated from the University of Debrecen and continued her studies of European law at the University of Péter Pázmány in Budapest. She also completed Eastern European Political Studies at the University College of London.

During her career she has advised on a broad range of corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, restructuring and private equity transactions. She has gained experience working both as a commercial practitioner at international law firms and as in-house counsel.

Tompa has experience in the pharmaceutical sector and has advised companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industry – from startups to large publicly listed companies.
