Jörg Schmidt was appointed CEO of Mercedes-Benz Hungária Kft. and EvoBus Hungária Kft., as of the beginning of the year, according to a press release issued today.

Schmidt began working at Daimler in 1988, where he held several positions related to sales and finance in Italy, South Africa, Singapore, Egypt and Germany.

As of 2014 he was responsible for sales activities in Italy, Turkey, Romania, Slovakia, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, a number of Latin countries where Daimler is present, and Hungary.

The new leader will continue on the path of the companyʼs sustainable growth in terms of sales, while maintaining a strong connection with the network of Mercedes-Benz branches, and offering the highest customer experience possible.

“I see great opportunities for the Mercedes-Benz brand in the Hungarian market,” Schmidt said.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.

We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
