A shareholders meeting of state-owned postal services company Magyar Posta elected Zoltán Illés chairman-CEO on Friday, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

Illés replaces Zsolt Szarka, who resigned by mutual consent.

Magyar Postaʼs management board also resigned and was replaced by newly elected officials.

Illés started his career at ABN AMRO Bank in 1995. Since 2006, he has worked for OTP Bank, first managing its retail business, then its unit in Russia.

The government recently transferred coordination of government activities on the oversight of postal affairs from the Prime Ministerʼs Office to the Ministry of National Development.
