Apollo Tyres Hungary names Head of Unit
Apollo Tyres Hungary, the local subsidiary of India-based manufacturer Apollo which is currently constructing a plant in Gyöngyöshalász through an investment of EUR 475 million, has appointed Csaba Mákos Head of Unit, according to a press release issued today.
Mákos will be responsible for ensuring the launch of production in Hungary and managing manufacturing processes after the launch. The professional has decades of experience in the automotive industry. The last position he held was as plant manager for a greenfield project in Poland at Opel, after serving GM for 20 years in areas such as management and business operations, heading a team of 1,800 people.
“Csaba Mákos’ rich experience in the automotive industry, in greenfield investment in particular and in a multicultural environment, will be of immense value to Apollo,” said Kannan Prabhakar, managing director of Apollo Tyres Hungary.
“I look forward to playing a significant role in establishing Apollo Tyres as one of the premier manufacturing facilities in Europe,” said newly appointed Mákos. “And beyond that, to ensure the availability of superior Apollo products in Europe.”
