Nordic Light, the most recent real estate development in the Váci Corridor in Budapest, was officially opened by Skanska, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal today.

Lease agreements have already been signed for approximately 80% of the premises of the complex that is LEED Gold certified and includes many green and sustainable features.

The major portion of the new office building developed by Skanska was already chosen by tenants before its official opening ceremony today. Companies deciding to move operations to the Nordic Light complex include Schneider Electric, M&C, Harman Becker, BASF, Monsanto, Mercedes-Benz and Cofidis Hungary. The catering services of the office complex are also expanding rapidly, as guests and visitors will have the opportunity to dine at the Dominium Restaurant or have a coffee at Cafe Frei or in Dominium’s Café.

“I would like to thank our tenants for choosing Nordic Light and I strongly believe they will enjoy all features and amenities of the complex. Throughout the development of Nordic Light, one of our priorities was to create a workplace with an atmosphere where people truly enjoy spending their time,” said Marcin Łapiński, Managing Director of Skanska Property Hungary and Romania.

Nordic Light is an “A” class office building which has already acquired LEED Gold certification and complied with the sustainability criteria of the international green building rating system with a remarkably high score, the press statement said. On November 29, Nordic Light was honored with a CIJ Award from Construction & Investment Journal, which is one of the most prestigious accolades in the CEE office development industry.
