GE to continue expansion of Budapest service center
GE is planning to raise headcount at its Budapest-based global service center from the current 1,200 to 2,000 as of 2017, Hungarian economic daily Világgazdaság reported today, citing General Manager for Global Operations Europe, Bjorn Bergabo.
Bergabo noted that headcount at the center, which opened in February 2014 and will move to a new office in July, has increased by more than 200 this year already.
The center handles invoicing, IT, HR and supply chain for GEʼs operations in approximately 40 countries in Europe, in Russia and in the Middle East. Legal and taxation branches could be added later this year, the general manager said.
