U.S. ambassador: Refugees not terrorists
Refugees are fleeing violent radicals and are not terrorists, U.S. Ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell said in an interview to state-owned all-news channel M1 on Saturday, according to press reports.
Asked about Hungarian born U.S. billionaire George Soros and his “support” for migration, Bell (pictured) responded that she did not know any circumstances in which Soros was linked to immigration.
On the subject of the border fences built to stop migrants, Bell said that Hungary, as a sovereign nation, has a right to protect its borders, but that it is important that refugees arriving here are treated properly, humanely and that their safety is guaranteed. Bell was visiting the Air Force Base in Pápa, western Hungary, to view a NATO exercise, when she was interviewed by M1.
