Two “prominent Islamists”, Trevor Brooks and Simon Keeler, who were caught by Hungarian officials on November 14 on a train heading to Bucharest, Romania, have been charged with breaching elements of the Terrorism Act after being detained and sent back to the United Kingdom from Hungary, BBC News reported today.

A Budapest court ruled that they should be deported based on a European warrant for their arrest and now that the two are in the United Kingdom, they are expected to appear at Westminster Magistratesʼ Court soon, according to BBC News.

BBC News said that Keeler told the Hungarian court he was trying to reach his wife and children in Turkey, while Brooks, also known as Abu Izzadeen, said he wanted to be sent back to Britain.
