Truck found with 70 dead may belong to Hungarian firm

A Hungarian firm may be the owner of the truck with Hungarian license plates that was found yesterday on the Austrian A4 highway, containing the dead bodies of more than 70 people who were thought to be refugees transiting from Hungary, local online daily origo.hu reported this morning.

Although, the truck bears the advertisement of Slovak meat company Hyza, it is no longer owned by the company, but by Hungarian firm MasterMobilKer Kft., headquartered in Budapest, origo.hu reported.
The Hungarian portal found that the owner of the company is a Hungarian man, whose address is a farm near Kecskemét, eastern Hungary. But since 2015 the company has also been represented by a Ukrainian man with a Ukrainian address, origo.hu said. The portal noted that the document office of Budapest’s District 14 tried to contact the firm, however, all letters were returned to the office marked “moved”.
Although Cabinet Chief János Lázár said yesterday that the temporary Hungarian license plates of the truck were registered to a Romanian man, the foreign ministry in Bucharest said in an announcement that no Romanian citizens were involved in the matter, the daily reported.
