Secret service responds to bomb scare at British Intʼl School

Hungaryʼs secret service and counter-terrorism unit (TEK) were called to the British International School in Óbuda this morning after the school received a bomb threat, online daily hvg.hu reported today. A suspect was reportedly charged in the incident.

Budapest police confirmed to the daily that they received a call regarding a bomb threat at the school at 8:44 a.m. this morning. Procedures have been launched against an unknown suspect on suspicion of posing a threat of public endangerment, the daily reported.

Following the bomb threat, some students were taken to the neighboring Kiscelli Museum to be kept safe, while others gathered in the schoolʼs gymnasium, or were collected by their parents, the daily reported.

The British International School is a private school with courses taught in English. The annual tuition is roughly HUF 3-5 million, according to hvg.hu.
