Refugees demonstrate, saying they fear imprisonment

Fearing they would be imprisoned and would not be allowed to leave Hungary, 150 refugees demonstrated with banners near Hungary’s Keleti (Eastern) Railway station on Saturday afternoon, Hungarian online daily 444.hu reported.

Police arriving at the scene were able to convince the demonstrating refugees to go back to the Transit Zone without any incidents, the daily said.
The daily noted that the situation came about because more refugees are arriving to Keleti Station by train, the Transit Zones of Budapest are full, and Hungary’s Office of Immigration and Nationality is closed for the weekend, so there is no official body ready to deal with the arriving refugees.
Refugees reportedly chanted, “let us go” and “Germany”, the location where most refugees are aiming to go.
