Parliament restricts online betting and casino activities
The Hungarian Parliament yesterday approved a bill under which online sports betting in Hungary can only be done through state-owned Szerencsejáték Zrt., while online horse betting can only be done through state-owned Magyar Lóversenyfogadást Szervező Kft., Hungarian online daily 444.hu reported.
Online casino games can only be operated by firms that have casino concessions, which means Andy Vajna and Gábor Szima, who own all the casino concessions in Hungary, the daily noted.
According to 444.hu, online casinos can generated extra income through online betting, however they are not required to pay extra taxes on that income.
