Orbán: Left sees migrants as new voters
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the arrival of migrants to Europe from the Middle East and Africa may be part of a left-wing plan to pack the continent with sympathetic voters, in a front page interview with Die Weltwoche, a Swiss weekly, according to a report by online daily channelnewsasia.com.

“I am not brave enough to speak about this in public with certainty, but you cannot get around imagining that some kind of master plan is behind this,” Orbán told the weekly, according to channelnewsasia.com.
“Migration is seen as an opportunity ... All indications and experience suggest that the overwhelming majority of these migrants will vote for the left once they become citizens, so future leftist voters are being imported into Europe,” channelnewsasia.com quoted the prime minister as saying.
According to Hungarian online daily origo.hu, Orbán said in the interview that he does not mind European decision makers referring to him as a “dare-devil” or "enfant terrible". He said he believes Germany plays a “key role” in the migrant crisis, and if Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel announces that Germany is full, the influx of refugees would decrease, origo.hu reported.
Orbán also said in the interview that the influx of “migrants” could “destabilize” the European Union, not only because of the huge immigrant population growth in the Continent, but also because of peopleʼs “wavering faith in democracy”, origo.hu reported.
The Hungarian prime minister said he feels that the European elite only discusses “secondary” issues, rather than “fundamental” issues, such as freedom, Christianity, the nation, or pride, origo.hu reported.
