Ministry knows of one Hungarian casualty in Nice attack

Hungary’s Ministry Foreign Affairs and Trade has knowledge about one Hungarian casualty only so far in the suspected terror attack taking place yesterday during the Bastille Day celebration in Nice, France, which left at least 84 people dead, according to reports.

Tamás Menczer, a spokesperson for the Hungarian ministry, said that French officials have not given any official information to his ministry about possible Hungarian casualties, however an injured Hungarian woman phoned home after the attack, telling her mother she had been injured and was waiting for help in her accommodation, according to a report by Hungarian online daily hvg.hu.
A truck loaded with weapons drove into the celebrating crowd on the sidewalk and attackers were able to drive for more than a mile before local police officers were able to shoot the driver, who is reported to have been a 31-year-old French citizen born in Tunisia, according to reports.
