Road and sidewalk renovations are being carried out, intersections are being rebuilt, and a bicycle path will be established on a section connecting downtown Pécs (195 km southeast of Budapest) and the prefab Kertváros housing estate area, according to profitline.hu.

The development, funded by a European Union grant of almost HUF 1.5 billion, will be completed by the end of the year, the local government of the county seat of Baranya said.

In its announcement, it wrote that the city won a total of HUF 1.475 billion in two separate tenders in the Operative Program for Area and Settlement Development for the development of Megyeri út and Verseny utca.

The two roads serve those traveling between downtown Pécs and Kertváros, and the industrial district located on the stretch.
