The wealth of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbánʼs family is estimated at HUF 6.9 bln, according to a report in the latest issue of the Hungarian publication of Forbes magazine.

The most valuable asset of the family Dolomit Kft., which specializes in mining rock for road and other construction, is majority owned (51%) by the family, Forbes says,. The company doubled its turnover over the past four years, with 2014 being an exceptionally good year: Turnover reached HUF 3.3 bln, after-tax profit of HUF 1.1 bln, and owners were paid a total of HUF 900 mln in dividends, Forbes reports.

However, Forbes says that the increase in wealth of those businesspeople close to the prime minister is “more impressive”. István Garancsi, who told Figyelő in June that he is “tied” to Orbán with “a rope of friendship, saw his wealth increase by HUF 24 bln in the past few years, Forbes said.

The mayor of Felcsút – Orbán’s birthplace – Lőrinc Mészáros’, said the “good Lord, luck and Viktor Orbán” have played a major role in him becoming so successful, and his companies “are doing well” on tenders called by the state, Forbes reported.
