Csányi: PM treats banks like 'Batman'

OTP has problems in three countries: in Ukraine, because of the war, in Russia because of sanctions and in Hungary because of the regulatory environment, OTP chairman Sándor Csányi said yesterday during a lecture at Corvinus university.

OTP chairman Sándor Csányi also responded to the Prime Minister’s  keynote speech in parliament. “Banks are as cunning as a bat”, Viktor Orbán said on Monday to his fellow MPs.

The Prime Minister probably thinks banks should be “like Batman, who comes to rescue when he sees the Bat-signal in the sky”, Csányi said, website index.hu reports.

The government was criticizing banks but turning to them for help when growth was slow, OTP CEO added.
