Varga receives award for fostering Hungarian-Kazakh ties

Hungary’s National Economy Minister Mihály Varga received an award for his work in forging closer ties between Hungary and Kazakhstan and preserving Cuman-Kipchak traditions during a ceremony at the embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest yesterday, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

Speaking at the ceremony, the minister referred to the two countries as strategic partners, adding that potential areas of cooperation include the farming, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, machinery and tourism industries.

MTI noted that Varga has been deputy director of the Hungarian-Kazakh Friendship society since 1997, and he is also the co-chair of the Hungarian-Kazakh Joint Economic Committee.
