Town of Lenti adds spa, hotel development
A new development has been inaugurated by the local council in the local spa of Lenti, a town in Hungary near the Slovenian border, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.
The HUF 3.1 billion upgrade of the local spa with the addition of a 94-room hotel received support of more than HUF 1 bln in European Union grant money.
The Thermal Hotel Balance has had a 45% occupancy rate since it opened in July, with approximately 30% of guests arriving from abroad, chiefly from Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, the news agency added.
About HUF 21 bln state and EU funding is expected to be made available for tourism developments next year, Speaker of the National Assembly László Kövér said during the inauguration. Investments in the sector will be supported by a 4% tourism development contribution as of 2018, Kövér added.
