On July 4, Szijjártó will be the first EU foreign minister to make a diplomatic visit to India following the United Kingdom’s historic vote to leave the EU last week.

“Hungary hopes for understanding from India on issues such as migration into Europe and industrial cooperation that are in line with the EU’s plans for greater cooperation with the major emerging powers,” commented Szijjártó, emphasizing that Hungary is amenable to become an alternative location for Indian companies that are thinking of leaving the U.K.

Tata Consultancy Services and several other major Indian companies are already operating in Hungary, and changes anticipated by the EU following Brexit may allow Hungary to court additional Indian firms to its benefit, according to The Hindu’s report.
