Although the outcome of free trade talks between the European Union and the United States is still uncertain, the Hungarian government will only support the agreement if it serves Hungarian interests, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Such an agreement could be generally advantageous for Hungary, he said, but added that increasing competition on Hungary's European export markets could be seen as a risk. Szijjártó mentioned vehicle manufacturing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, medical devices and infocommunication products as exports that could see the most benefit from free trade.
